Burnout: An Unexpected Turning Point
Claire was a rising star in the finance world. After graduating with honors, she climbed the ranks at a major bank. But the apparent success came at a cost: unrealistic targets, constant stress, and eventually, burnout. It was a turning point, a moment of truth where she had to choose: continue destroying her health to secure a comfortable salary or risk reinventing herself and achieving more than just material comfort.
The Renaissance: Finding Her Vocation
Claire chose to take action. She chose life. She decided to follow her heart and dedicate herself to a profession that would bring her joy. She trained in massage therapy and started her own business. But the beginning was tough. Very tough. She couldn’t afford to rent a space, so she began doing massages at home. Every day was a struggle against self-doubt, the fear of failure, and the thought of returning to the corporate world she despised. Imagine the financial frustration and fear of failure, with no certainty of being able to pay the bills at the end of the month. The situation was critical.
The Spark of Change: Coaching
At a point where everything seemed lost, Claire made a bold decision. With nothing left to lose, she invested all her savings and remaining resources into her last chance. She turned to Exceptional Woman business coaching. From the very first session, something magical happened. She uncovered a deep mental block:
“Being born poor means dying poor and having lived in poverty.”
This small phrase, deeply ingrained in her mind and inherited from her parents, had nearly destroyed everything, including her entire life. This realization changed everything. She understood that her beliefs were limiting her reality. Later, she shared with us:
“How could I have thought that without bringing this to light,
I would have a chance at financial success?”
Transformation and Success
Two months and ten coaching sessions later, Claire experienced a metamorphosis. She went from survival to prosperity. Today, a year after the last coaching session, she owns a thriving spa specializing in energy massages and employs three people.
Claire sums up her journey this way and this is her testimony:
"We are wrapping up our coaching journey with Stela, completely blown away by the results! We decided to explore and resolve with her my biggest fear: my relationship with money and my ties to poverty. We uncovered my unconscious beliefs: 'Being born poor means dying poor and having lived in poverty.' What I once saw as inevitable had significant impacts and created strong barriers to my business and career. It was transformed with kindness and energy. I reclaimed my responsibilities, learned to overcome shame, and asked for support. We achieved concrete actions in a very short time – which is a huge accomplishment for me! I feel incredibly proud."
My Experience as Claire’s Coach
Claire’s results exceeded our expectations and hopes. In coaching, we work on measurable goals, and by the end of the coaching, we know those goals are achieved. Honestly, if the goal is well set, it is always achieved. However, for Claire, it was a metamorphosis. We have a metaphor for this: we are like on a tandem bicycle during coaching. The coach is behind, doesn’t see much, and doesn’t know the destination, but remains an indispensable partner through their specific knowledge, expertise, and skills.
On the other hand, the coachee indicates the direction but doesn’t always have the power and skills to get there alone at the start. They often also need clarity to determine where they want to go.
As the coaching sessions progress, the coachee learns, gains confidence, dares, and knows…
At the end of the coaching process, the coach must get off the tandem, and the coachee should be able to ride solo.
For Claire, it was extraordinary. We are honestly talking about a return on investment of 500%-600% (speaking directly about revenue at a specific point two months after the end of coaching). She saved her business and life, built a successful business, and created jobs for other women and mothers.
